Nelson Wedding | Haylee + Cole | Lubbock, Tx | Legacy Event Center

Haylee + Cole’s Wedding took place at the Legacy Event Center in Lubbock, Texas. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding with an absolutely beautiful venue to match! I’ve been looking forward to Haylee + Cole’s wedding for a while, and got the chance to take their amazing engagement photos! Which you can view HERE. They are one of my favorite engagement photos I’ve ever captured!

I love the story of how they met. This is from their wedding website as told by Haylee:

“For those of you who don’t know Cole and I’s story, it started when we were sixteen and seventeen years old (five years ago). We met for the first time when we were in middle school at a high school football game. Of course, back in middle school we didn’t have an actual conversation. It was more of a “Hey” with shy eyes and you get a “Hey” back. When I was a sophomore I started getting these Facebook messages from Cole that were pretty flirty. I talked back. I couldn’t resist how sweet he was!! After a while he asked me on a date to go see “The Vow” and go to dinner. At this time I lived in Tahoka and he lived in Shallowater, so it was a pretty big deal for him to come all the way (45 miles!) to pick me up! After our first date we hit it off… and here we are now five years down the road! We have lived 45 miles apart, 20 miles, 130 miles and now 3 miles away from each other. We have made it through a lot together and its only helped us grow closer together!”

And this is how he proposed to her!

“November 19, 2016

Saturday morning: I woke up that morning from a dream. This dream was VERY realistic. It started with Cole showing up to my house at about 10 o’clock, saying “Get dressed… I have a surprise”. Well the surprise was him proposing. NOW…Fast forward to all my roomies being awake at the crack of dawn with me. I told them about the dream I had and they both looked at me and said, “Really? That’s so weird!” I didn’t think much about it. About 15 minuets later our doorbell rings. Guess who it was? COLE!! He was standing there holding the cutest shirt and necklace. He told me to get ready, we are going to breakfast! I was seriously so excited and surprised! I, still being clueless, had no idea what would happen later that day. He took me to Rain Uptown and we ate and had some mimosas. After breakfast he took me back home and said he was going to Tech game. (I was a little sad because he said everyone was going and I didn’t get invited). I walk to my room and find it magically clean with the prettiest black dress and a note that said, “Haylee, Today is a big adventure. I will be picking you up around 2:30. Enjoy the dress! You will want to wear some flats to start, or at least bring some along! I hope you slept great last night and have tons of energy for today. You’ll need it!! I love you so much! -Cole” I read it and looked at my roommates and started crying. IT WAS SO SWEET!! I still had no clue what was coming.

Saturday afternoon: It’s 2:30 and I am pacing back and forth in my living room waiting for Cole. He was a little late so I was freaking out. When he picked me up he was so calm and just kept looking at me and smiling. (Still had no clue because if you know Cole he smiles all the time and is so happy all the time.) While he is driving he hooks up some music and is playing all these songs I like. He pulls over at a gas station and blind folds me. ( I have an idea but I’m trying to not get my hopes up.) He drives for a little bit and we are going down some curvy roads. I have no clue where we are. He parks and comes and gets me and walks me to a chair. He takes my blindfold off and there is a picnic table with a basket in front of us with a board that says ‘Cole and Haylee,’ a scrapbook, and, two wine glasses with a bottle of wine. He turns on the music and the song is ‘Deeper than the Holler’ by Randy Travis. (This is one of our songs). He tells me to look at the scrapbook. This book is filled with pictures of us. It starts at our very fist one and ends with one recent one. In the very back of the book is a note from him. There is a lot on the note but at the very end it says, “Hayls, let’s get married”. At this point I’m already crying like a baby so I turn to him and ask, “Are you asking me????” He smiles and says YES! He gets down on one knee and pulls the ring out! (I started crying even more…it is so perfect!!) {He even thought to hire a photographer to take pictures of the whole thing! He did absolutely perfect!}

Their story is absolutely Swoon worthy! Which brings us to “The Big day!”

When I arrived at the legacy event center all the girls were getting their hair and makeup done. The girls looked absolutely beautiful, and they all had cute matching outfits! Cole and the boys were hanging out in their room and I had a great time carpeting those pre-ceremony emotions.  It was very evident how much support and love they were surrounded by. Haylee was unbelievable radiant thought everything but especially when she finally had her dress on! That is something I always look forward to. After that the ceremony, was just heartwarming, there was a lot of smiles, and a lot of Love. Seeing them walk down the isle as husband and wife was so special! Another favorite moment of mine was the first dance! To wrap things up in the most perfect way they had a sparkler exit! It was beautiful!

Haylee + Cole I want to wish you many years to come! It was truly an honor to capture such an amazing day, thank you for being such an amazing couple!

Here are the photos of such an amazing day what do you think?
